The Lantern Ceremony on April 16th – A Boston Tradition

On April 18, 1775, two lanterns were hung from the steeple of the Old North Church, launching what would become the American Revolutionary War. Signaling the departure of British regulars “by sea,” the two lanterns have come to represent the resolve and ingenuity of the American spirit.               Commemorate this spirit with us at Old North on Sunday, April 16th at 8:00pm for this year’s Lantern Ceremony, an evening of history and an inspiring address from keynote speaker, David Rubenstein, co-founder and co-CEO of the Carlyle Group. The 242nd Lantern Ceremony is generously sponsored by: STEEPLE CLIMBER Walmart LANTERN LIGHTER Elkus Manfredi Architects BELL RINGER Anne & Roger Berman Citizens Bank Christopher & Jennifer Goguen RMS US LLP Allen L.
